Business Continuity

Business Continuity

A disaster can affect any company, any size and at any time. It can arrive in the shape of a flood, fire, a terrorist attack, adverse weather conditions etc. If the incident is large enough it can put business operations out of action for either a short or long period. In order for companies to survive and indeed still be operating 12 months on will hugely rely on whether a tested business continuity plan is in place. This means action before and not after disaster strikes.

Most large organisations will have business continuity plans. However there are very few smaller businesses that will have an effective plan. It is worrying to read that half of all businesses that experience a disaster and which have no effective plan for recovery; fail within the following 12 months. To stay in business after a disaster strikes requires careful pre-planning.
