Often you will come across “I need more business, more clients, more profit”. As it is far easier to get work out of existing clients rather than new ones, this is best place to start, particularly in the current climate.

Many people are excellent at what they do, but when it comes to retaining clients, developing their business and selling their expertise and knowledge, they often fall short of mark. There is an art in being able to sell and market your skills as well as the services of the company. Although typically there are “rainmakers” in any company, they are often not effective at helping other staff.
